9-1-1 9 - 1 -1 has a whole new meaning;
watching the horror, hearing the screaming.
Scrambling for shelter, a building falls;
the bravest of people, answering their calls.
Not letting go, hands are clutched;
keeping the faith, many lives touched.
Watching the chaos, hearing the sirens;
heroes approach, saving the dying.
Looking through rubble, hoping people to find;
many are gone, leaving families behind.
Looking in fear, praying real hard;
as a city and nation, caught off guard.
Question of why, how can this be?
Thinking how awful, it could have been me.
People in shock, wherever you roam;
it doesn't seem real, too close to home.
Lists of people, in neighboring towns;
the "cream of the crop," nowhere to be found.
Trying to hold back tears, with all your might;
when tragedy hits, not an atheist in sight.
Hearing the news, many hearts broken;
a moment of silence, not a word spoken.
Seeing the flag, waving so high;
hands on our hearts, we start to cry.
United we stand, be pro
Her CatalystAs she walks through the maelstrom, the words trace upon the tips of her fingers and press into the stone. Every brick, every crack in the concrete, every crossed and angular stroke in reds and blacks and oranges. The drips of the gasoline pool around the base of her boots, slosh as she steps over the burst pipes and the rubble.
So much rubble. So little outcry. The silence of the city grates on her eardrums and the mantras she'd been forced to memorize. The Seers demanded they observe thirteen years of recitation before they attempt to weave their first World together.
But who other than the Seers can claim the incantations that knot the skeins they twist and pull on like reins hold fast? When have any of the Sisters recorded the visions they traced upon space-time and recited them, left them open for critique and discussion and debate?
